Why bike helmets are important in preventing head injuries

Experts at Cincinnati Children’s estimate that 45 percent of children under the age of 14 do not wear a helmet while riding a bike or skateboard.

Dawne Gardner is an injury prevention specialist with the Comprehensive Children’s Injury Center at Cincinnati Children’s.

Gardner explains to Fox 19 why helmets are so important in preventing head injuries.
