High School basketball standout comes back from devastating injury

Harrison High School senior Jacob Back overcame a gruesome injury in middle school to finish his high school athletic career with a first-team all-Southwest Ohio Conference nod in basketball.

Back suffered a severe break to his femur in the 5th grade during a football game.

“The femur is the largest bone in the body and to actually break it requires a lot of force,” said Junichi Tamai, MD, orthopedic surgeon at Cincinnati Children’s who performed Jacob’s surgery.
