Can New Technology Help Prevent School Violence?

Drew Barzman, MD and Yizhao Ni, PhD are working on a new way to identify and help young people who may be contemplating committing an act of violence at school.

They recently developed an assessment model that identifies young patients with potentially violent tendencies.

They want to place the risk assessment platform they’re developing into smartphones used by counselors and psychologists at middle schools and high schools nationwide.
