Why do you need to take another view of my child?
Sometimes, we are asked by parents why more than one view is needed for their child’s x-ray. Most of the time, the reason is because each image is a two-dimensional (2D) picture of a three-dimensional (3D) object (your child’s body).

Dislocation is also a common complaint for a child who presents to the emergency room or a doctor’s office with a knee injury. It is typically an outside dislocation of the knee cap (patella) from its normal position in the groove at the lower end of the thigh bone (femur), and is called a patellar dislocation.
