After surviving cancer, now what?

More children are outliving their cancer diagnosis, but many find they have to contend with the ill effects of treatments that save their lives, according to US News & World Report.

 In a story that highlights the efforts of some of the nation’s top pediatric cancer programs to address the issue, Karen Burns, MD, clinical director of the Cancer Survivorship Program at Cincinnati Children’s, and Katie Wilson, an oncology nurse at Cincinnati Children’s and survivor of rare childhood leukemia, talk about life after surviving cancer.
