Cancer fighting technology arrives at Cincinnati Children’s

Two large pieces of Cincinnati Children’s new Varian ProBeam proton therapy system were delivered to the Liberty Campus on July 29. The two pieces form a cyclotron, which will more precisely target radiation at tumors, minimizing harm to surrounding tissue.

The cyclotron will go in the new Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center/UC Health Proton Therapy Center at Liberty Campus, and will treat both pediatric and adult patients beginning in 2017.
