Cincinnati Children’s, the UC Medical Center and the March of Dimes Mark One-Year Anniversary of the Ohio Research Collaborative to Find Unknown Causes of Prematurity

President of the March of Dimes, Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, visited Cincinnati on May 19 to mark the one-year anniversary of the Ohio Research Collaborative to find unknown causes of prematurity. The March of Dimes made a $10M commitment to this effort one year ago. The commitment is over five years. Dr. Louis Muglia of Cincinnati Children’s is the principal investigator on the study, which brings together geneticists, molecular biologists, epidemiologists, engineers, computer scientists and others from across the State of Ohio to study this problem.

While here last week, the March of Dimes also opened a new Support Center at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UC’s Medical Center for families of premature babies.
