Cincinnati Children’s to Fill More than 1,000 Jobs

With more than 1,100 jobs to fill, hiring has picked up considerably this year at Cincinnati Children’s.

Julia Abel, senior director of employment at Cincinnati Children’s, says two years ago the hospital averaged 600 to 700 job openings at any given time. Now it’s adding a net of about 35 people every month.

The demand for labor is coming from growth across the organization and in particular from Cincinnati Children’s Heart Institute and Cancer and Blood Diseases Institute.

Many jobs are for patient care, including nursing.

“We want to find RNs who have critical care or pediatrics experience,” Abell said. “We hire a lot of new grads, but we’re focusing on those who are more experienced.”

Cincinnati Children’s has 13,200 employees.
