Cranley pledge: Lift 10,000 kids out of poverty
Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley will give his State of the City speech on October 5th addressing Cincinnati’s high childhood poverty rate. Cranley announced a new task force to battle childhood poverty compiled of local business, non-profit, and community leaders including Cincinnati Children’s president and CEO Michael Fischer.
“It is unacceptable to have this rate of childhood poverty; this concentration of childhood poverty,” said Fisher. “It’s important that the community really understands the severity of this issue and what it is doing to stunt potential.”
