Dr. Robert Frenck discusses the Zika virus
Robert Frenck, MD, medical director, Infectious Diseases, discusses the Zika virus spreading through many South American countries and Caribbean islands. The virus is spread by mosquitos and is connected with birth defects when contracted by pregnant women or women who are about to become pregnant.
“It’s a fairly mild disease for most people, and it’s really the risk for pregnant women that we’re looking at, at this point,” said Frenck.
