Grant Money for Technological Innovations at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center Creates Tomorrow Fund III
A $3 million grant from Ohio’s Third Frontier program will be matched by Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to create the Tomorrow Fund III, which will assist in the creation of startup companies based on new technologies developed at the hospital.
“From the earliest idea creation in a research laboratory to formal development of a technology for the patient-care environment, the medical center has created a funding pipeline to advance innovations from one development phase to the next,” said Niki Robinson, assistant vice president of the Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC) at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. “This creates additional value when a technology has the potential to improve patient care and have an economic impact in Ohio.”
The companies that receive money are expected to use it to further develop the technology, hire managers and employees, and create a commercialization strategy.
