Infection Control Nurses Step Into Spotlight

When a highly contagious patient comes into Cincinnati Children’s, a special team of nurses kicks into gear. This team’s job is to prevent  illness from spreading. Team members answer colleague questions on everything from appropriate protective clothing to the most effective way to clean rooms.

“We work collaboratively with all areas of the hospital and try to educate,” said Melanie DuBose, a nurse who is part of the team working to keep illnesses confined. She is prominently featured in a story by The Cincinnati Enquirer, which is part of a series of stories on nursing care.
