Local moms raise awareness of genetic condition

Nicole Stouts struggled her entire life with a variety of chronic symptoms without a diagnosis. She recently received genetic testing at Cincinnati Children’s and was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos syndrome (EDS), a connective tissue disorder. Stouts now sees a multidisciplinary team at Cincinnati Children’s to help manage her different symptoms.

“What we offer here is a multidisciplinary approach, so that we as surgeons, my partner and I and others, can address this in a way that is safe, and the results are highly, highly successful,” said Victor Garcia, MD, FACS, FAAP, founding director, Trauma Services.
