Local Teen With Chronic Kidney Disease on Kidney Donation List

Leston Crawford, a 14-year-old in Cincinnati, has been treated at Cincinnati Children’s for chronic kidney disease and is currently awaiting a kidney donor.

“Leston, like many kids that we see, had an abnormality to his bladder where it doesn’t work as well, doesn’t empty as well. And when it does empty, the urine can go back up to his kidneys,” said Dr. Rene Van De Voorde, his doctor.

Leston told WKRC that his Christmas wish is to have a new kidney.
