Partnering with Toyota for Car Seat Safety
Cincinnati Children’s and Toyota have partnered to educate families about the importance of car seat safety. The program, called “Buckle Up for Life” has seen impressive results. Children who are African American or Hispanic are three or four times more likely not to be buckled up when riding in a motor vehicle. After the partnership, program organizers found that the children whose families were involved in the program were being buckled 92 percent of the time. Because the partnership has been so successful, they are implementing the program in other cities.
