Researchers Find Possible Link Between HPV Vaccine and Less Risky Behavior in Young Women
A new study out of the University of Manchester in England finds less risky behavior among young women who got the HPV vaccine, according to a recent article from Reuters online.
Dr. Jessica Kahn, from the Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine at Cincinnati Children’s, is quoted in the article about the study. “One explanation of the findings is that girls who are vaccinated receive education about sexual health and prevention which decreases riskier behaviors,” said Dr. Kahn. “Preventive health behaviors tend to cluster, so it makes sense that girls who practice safer behaviors are more likely to be vaccinated.”
