Every child deserves a special and memorable birthday, and our pin of the week can help!
On her blog The House of Hendrix, Allison Hendrix describes 20 ways to make your child’s birthday extraordinary.
With streamers and balloons filling their doorways and birthday pancakes complete with a candle on top, your children will feel remarkable on their special day from beginning to end. Plenty of traditions and memories are sure to be made with just a few simple acts.
If you have multiple children, have them write down their favorite thing about the birthday boy or girl and deliver the notes throughout the day. Other family members and friends can participate as well with letters, notes, or phone calls.
Choice of dinner or dessert, a special “it’s my birthday!” t-shirt and notes on the bathroom mirror (using a dry erase marker for easy clean-up) are all little things that are easy for you, but will be huge to your children on their birthday.
We’re all about celebrating children, and we love the ideas that Allison lists. These ideas can be adapted to fit your child’s age and ability, and they serve as a great launch-pad for customizing and creating your very own traditions. They also serve as a reminder that you don’t have to spend a lot of time, effort and money to make your child feel special on his or her birthday.
