The HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia) Center of Excellence at Cincinnati Children’s

Cincinnati Children’s is now a HHT (Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia) Center of Excellence. There are approximately 25 such centers in North America and we are the only free standing pediatric hospital with such designation.

HHT or Osler-Weber-Rendu is an inherited disorder resulting in abnormal blood vessels. These abnormal blood vessels can make one prone to nose bleeds, telangiectasias (abnormal veins visible on the mouth, face and fingers), and development of AVMs (arteriovenous malformations) within the brain, lung, liver and GI tract. The AVMs can result in shortness of breath, fatigue, GI or intracranial bleeding and development of stoke and intracranial abscess.

Our multidisciplinary center is equipped to treat both adult and pediatric patients. We offer diagnosis, genetic testing, treatment and management through our HHT Center at Cincinnati Children’s.
