March 5th, 2021, we celebrate Jan Tiefermann’s career at Cincinnati Children’s. Jan started working for the hospital in 1981. She began imaging kids in our Radiography Division, from there she transferred to Interventional Radiology, then to CT and then finally to the MRI Division.

Jan was one of the original MRI staff technologists when our Radiology Department created the division. She worked her way up to be the MRI manager in the early 1990s and then stepped down to spend more time with her family.

Throughout her forty-year career in radiology, Jan has seen several changes in technology, staffing, hospital campus growth, department directorships and most of all more career opportunities for technologists. Jan has taught and become a role model for several generations of co-workers and technologists. In her retirement, she will be spending more time at home tending to her garden, her sewing business and traveling with her husband Bret in their new RV.

Well done Jan and happy retirement!
