Ask an Informatics IT Specialist

Our Radiology Department provides complete radiology and imaging services for the evaluation of pediatric disease. These services include radiography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), positron emission therapy (PET), fluoroscopy, vascular and interventional procedures and cardiac imaging. To support all of these modalities and systems, we have a support division called Radiology Informatics.

Radiology Informatics is responsible for all radiology images/report management/storage and distribution of information. In layman’s terms, our Informatics Division is the IT of the department.

One of the support specialists in the Division is David “Dave” Hulefeld. He is one of the key members of our department that keeps our systems running. Dave has been a member of Cincinnati Children’s for around twenty years. We stopped by Radiology Informatics and visited our friend, Dave, to give us a perspective of his role as a senior systems analyst in Informatics.
