Department of Radiology Opens New Hybrid OR

Earlier this month our Department of Radiology opened the new Hybrid OR. Dr. John M. Racadio with the aid of PHILIPS Medical Imaging and Dr. Daniel von Allmen (Surgeon-in-Chief) worked together for several years to create their vision of a procedural room, incorporating Radiology Interventional techniques with PHILIPS imaging technology in an Operating Room (OR) environment.

Cincinnati Children’s Radiologists and Surgeons work together to improve the health outcomes of our young patients. The Hybrid OR uses the capabilities of an X-Ray machine (Philips C-Arm) in aiding the surgeon during an operation. Using the X-Ray machine makes the surgery more accurate and a real time look inside the patient.

During the grand opening the news media, hospital Board of Trustees and other hospital leadership were in attendance.  Interventional Radiology-TRSL Program Manager, Nicole Hilvert, was on hand to demonstrate the C-Arm machine used in the room. With this new technology Cincinnati Children’s leads the nation or maybe the world in treating children.
