Please welcome Dr. Ethan Smith as our new Janet Strife Chair for Quality and Safety in Radiology. Dr. Smith will be the new faculty in charge of Quality Improvement and Compliance (QI & C), a division in the Department of Radiology. He will be working closely with QI & C’s Rachel Smith (Radiology manager) to help drive improvement work within the department.

QI (Quality Improvement) Section is responsible for directing and assisting in improvement projects in the Department of Radiology. A variety of projects are usually underway at the department and the subsection level.

Responsibilities include assuring we are in compliance with regulations and prepared when Cincinnati Children’s is surveyed. This includes state regulations overseen by the ODH (Ohio Department of Health). National standards are overseen by The TJC (The Joint Commission).

We would like to thank Dr. Neil Johnson for all that he has done over the last two years in this role, working to keep us the best pediatric imaging department in the country.
