For the rest of the general radiology fellows, Dr. Eric Crotty introduced Drs. Madalsa Joshi, Neil Lall, Aaron McAllister, HaiThuy Nguyen, Brian Pugmire, John Roebel, Andrew Schapiro and Hollie West. Four fellows will be extending their stay at Cincinnati Children’s by doing a second fellowship year in a particular radiology field.
Dr. Madalsa Joshi (photo above) came to us from Canada and now, after finishing her fellowship, she’s going back to Canada. She received her undergraduate degree in BS Cell and Modular Biology and did her residency at the University of BC, Vancouver. She accepted a position in BC Children’s, Vancouver, Canada.
Dr. Neil Lall (photo above), an avid photographer, is involved in the political side of the radiology field with organizations such as the SPR, ACR and others. He received his BA in Philosophy and MD at Ohio State. His residency was at Ochsner Clinical Foundation, New Orleans, and he did a previous neuroradiology fellowship at the University of Colorado. He accepted a position back at Ochsner Clinical Foundation.
Dr. Aaron McAllister received his BS of Physics and MS of Chemistry at the University of Utah. He earned his MD at Washington University in St. Louis and completed a residency at West Virginia University. He is staying on for another year as neuroradiology fellow.
Dr. HaiThuy Nguyen at a young age sold trendy pencils that the rest of her schools mates liked until a teacher witnessed her business transactions and quickly ended her retail career. She received her BS in Human Biology and Psychology at UCSD and her MD at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN. She did her residency at UTHSC Huston. She accepted a position at Texas Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Brian Pugmire was the chief fellow for the class of 2016. Dr. Crotty described him as capable, quick and responsive. He met his wife during high school, played varsity sports and was a male a cappella quartet singer. He earned a BS in Human Biology and his MD at UCSD. He did his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital and has accepted a position Valley Children’s Hospital, Madera, CA.
Dr. John Roebel grew up in Cincinnati. He threw out the first pitch at a Cincinnati Red’s baseball game and welcomed a child this year. He did his undergraduate at St. Louis University. He received his MD at Wright State and completed his residency at Medical University of South Carolina. He is continuing his fellowship for another year as an Interventional Radiology Fellow.
Dr. Andrew Schapiro was an NCAA All American and Academic American Swimmer, Emory Scholar Athlete of the Year, and NCAA Post Grad Scholarship Recipient. He received his BS in Chemistry and Math at Emory University, Atlanta. He received his MD at the University of Cincinnati and finished his residency at the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Shapiro will be staying another year at Cincinnati Children’s as a musculoskeletal fellow.
Dr. Hollie West’s favorite singer is Ray Stevens. Clinicians can sometimes hear her singing in the Reading Room. She earned her BS in Biology at Murray State University and received her MD at the University of Kentucky. She finished her residency at Vanderbilt University. She will be staying another year as a neuroradiology fellow.
We wish all of our Radiology 2016 fellows prosperity and good fortune in their new careers. They will always be a part of our Radiology family.
