Get to Know: Northern Outpatient Kentucky

Cincinnati Children’s and the Radiology Department are always looking to make your visit to us as convenient as possible. One of the ways we do that is offering multiple locations that you and your family can visit when making it to the main location isn’t possible. Cincinnati Children’s Outpatient Kentucky is just one of our locations we would like to highlight. It has a lot more to offer than what meets the eye.

We are consistently growing in services and upgrading our patient areas. It’s the only outpatient facility in Northern Kentucky that specializes in pediatrics and offers numerous services and care options, without the need to travel to the main Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in downtown Cincinnati. Outpatient Kentucky Children’s is conveniently located off of interstate I-275 and the Turkeyfoot Road exit, near Thomas More College.  It’s just 14 miles south of Cincinnati Children’s main campus. Local pediatricians love having Outpatient Kentucky Children’s close to their offices for easy patient referral and professional medical services that are often defined as world-class care.

Patients and families have walk-in access to Radiology and Laboratory services Monday through Friday, 8am to 6pm, and Saturdays, 8am to 12pm. Radiologists are onsite every Monday for scheduled fluoroscopy exams and ultrasound procedures. We often encounter patients and families who drive over 2 hours to have a fluoroscopy exam performed at Outpatient Kentucky and are so thankful that Children’s offers these outstanding services closer to home. These patients come from both Kentucky and Ohio. The Radiology Department at Kentucky also staffs ultrasound technologists every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for scheduled exams. The ultrasound staff is great at trying to accommodate the need for “stat” ultrasound exams as well as clinic add-ons around our busy outpatient schedule. Often these ultrasound exams are combined with other services on site (i.e. urology, etc.).

Outpatient Kentucky offers over 30 pediatric subspecialties that are available by appointment throughout the week such as ophthalmology, occupational and physical therapies and speech therapies. Some other pediatric subspecialty clinics that offer services by appointment are endocrinology; ear nose and throat specialists; urology; sports medicine; and orthopedics.

As radiology technologists, we love being able to help expand the great care and services that Cincinnati Children’s is known for a little closer to home. We have all the latest digital technology to assure minimal patient dose and excellent image quality. We have been providing world-class care for over 15 years at Outpatient Kentucky. We look forward to serving all of our patients and families throughout the year.
