How To Get Your Child’s Imaging Records

The information contained in a patient’s medical record is confidential. It is a legal requirement that Cincinnati Children’s receive specific authorization prior to releasing this information. The video below explains how to attain your child’s imaging records while you are at the Radiology Department.

The Health Information Management Department (HIM) processes, stores and retrieves patient’s medical records. The department is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday for patients and families, and 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to serve the clinical staff.

Requests for x-rays, MRI, nuclear medicine or other films should be directed to the Radiology Department at 636-4251, option 4.

Please note that copies of medical records from other facilities may not be re-released by Cincinnati Children’s. They must be requested from the originating facility.

If you have any HIM Department questions, please contact them at 636-4217 or 636-8233.
