Cincinnati Children’s Implements New Visitor Restrictions

Cincinnati Children’s Implements New Visitor Restrictions

The cold and flu season is upon us! To reduce the transmission of respiratory viruses and protect the health of our patients, on December 10, 2014, Cincinnati Children’s implemented Visitor Restrictions. It’s important to be aware of these restrictions as you plan your child’s imaging appointments.

In general, only children seeking evaluation or treatment should be brought to Cincinnati Children’s. Parents and guardians are not considered visitors and are not restricted. Anyone other than a parent or guardian is considered a visitor. This includes siblings and significant others. For this reason, if possible, only parents or guardians should accompany the child scheduled for imaging. If this is not possible, remember that all visitors should be healthy – that is free from fever, cough, colds or stomach virus symptoms.

At times, visitors may be asked to wait in the Radiology waiting room. It’s important to understand that children in waiting areas must be supervised at all times, so please plan accordingly.

We appreciate your understanding in observing these guidelines. These seasonal changes are necessary to protect the health of our patients, their families, and our staff. Thank you for your cooperation.
