Radiology “Adopts” a Family for Christmas

Each year our Department of Radiology historically “adopts” a family for Christmas.  This year, with social distancing in mind, the Department of Radiology is coordinating a holiday fundraiser to benefit the disadvantaged children served by the Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky (CHNK).  Our department’s support could help a family virtually receive help or make sure a child in residential care has winter clothing and a warm bed and so much more.  The following is a general summary of this organization provided by CHNK.

Children’s Home of Northern Kentucky, also known as CHNK Behavioral Health, is a licensed healthcare provider in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Founded in 1882 as a traditional orphanage for youth, the organization has evolved with changing community needs. Today, CHNK addresses an array of mental health and addiction treatment needs in both outpatient and residential settings, with a special focus on youth and families who have experienced significant trauma.  Last fiscal year, CHNK impacted nearly 4,000 individuals from across the Northern Kentucky/Greater Cincinnati region and beyond.

The individual from CHNK helping us to coordinate this fundraiser provided this statement.

“On a personal note, my 5-year-old nephew has been receiving treatment at CCHMC for leukemia since March 2019, and I’m so grateful for the excellent care he has received – having you and your colleagues support CHNK this holiday season is extra special to me! “

Since we are getting a late start this year due to all of the challenges in 2020, our department fundraiser will run through the end of January.

CHNK is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization. For more information about CHNK and its treatment services, please visit www.chnk.org.
