At Cincinnati Children’s Radiology, we always would like one of our facilities to be the first stop in your child’s health care, but we understand that’s not always possible. Emergencies, convenience, and access to certain specialists may mean you seek diagnosis or treatment at another healthcare provider. After this occurs, and you do subsequently come to Cincinnati Children’s Radiology department, we work with those providers and with our patients to obtain access to previous imaging exams. We do this to ensure the best quality care by giving our radiologist’s access to as much information they need to help your child. In addition, obtaining access to prior exams may eliminate or reduce the need to take additional images and lower the exposure to imaging radiation.

In order to facilitate the exchange of imagine exams with other regional healthcare providers, Cincinnati Children’s has rolled-out technology which allows for electronic exchange over the Internet. This highly secured, HIPAA-compliant exchange of data can often eliminate the need to transport CD’s or DVD’s and speeds up the process of getting the information to our physicians

In addition to our local region, Cincinnati Children’s receives patients from around the world. For those patients, imaging exams can be uploaded electronically via the Internet by contacting our radiology department.

Leveraging technology to solve simple issues, combined with cooperation with other medical facilities, demonstrates our commitment to your family’s best healthcare experience. Cincinnati Children’s Radiology strives to make your child’s visit as efficient as possible and having access to prior imaging exams improves our ability to give you the best healthcare possible.
