When I first started working at Cincinnati Children’s in the Radiology Department in March 2015, I remember feeling excited to be part of an organization with such a positive reputation. I was also a little anxious about starting a new job in a new city and working with pediatric patients and their families. Most of my experience in radiology had been with adult patients, so I knew I had a lot to learn. As with all new employees to Cincinnati Children’s, I’ve been through many orientations, various trainings and have been provided with lots of on-the-job experience.
My first-day jitters were quickly calmed by the smiles and welcomes from the team of radiology technologists that I work with every day. With every interaction, I see the technologists providing the highest level of professionalism to achieve quality imaging while genuinely caring for you and your child. Our technologists do a great job of really listening to patients and families, striving to understand and show compassion in even hectic situations. From my own professional point of view, I can’t imagine a better group of people to work with. The technologists go so far above and beyond with the care they provide that they set the rest of us up for success.
I have worked with some very good technologists in the past, but after being at Cincinnati Children’s and working with this group, a new standard of care has been set! I am proud to say that I am a part of this team and I am excited to celebrate National Radiologic Technology Week with them!

Alex is a radiologist and the Neil D. Johnson Chair of Radiology Informatics. In this role, he helps to manage the information systems used by the Radiology department. Clinically, Alex is the Assistant Director of thoracoabdominal imaging. His research interests include liver disease, liver tumors, inflammatory bowel disease, and appendicitis.
