Welcome, Akhil Dhamija, New Radiology Informatics Fellow!

Welcome, Akhil Dhamija, New Radiology Informatics Fellow!

Cincinnati Children’s, like all major institutions, has its own IT department. Here it’s called “IS” for Information Services. Our Radiology Department also has its own IT division called Radiology Informatics. Akhil Dhamija has set a milestone in our department as he is our first Radiology Informatics Fellow!

Akhil comes to us from Mason, Ohio, just a few minutes north of Cincinnati. He attended The Ohio State University, with a B.S. in Neuroscience. He’s attending The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences for his medical school education. To top it all off, he’s also attending the University of Cincinnati Lindner College of Business.

Akhil is a medical student currently taking a gap year after completing his 3rd year of medical school to pursue an MBA and complete a Radiology Informatics Medical Student Fellowship with Dr. Alexander Towbin (Division Director of Radiology Informatics). He’s excited to be at Cincinnati Children’s because of our commitment to the best pediatric care possible and our pioneering work in radiology informatics!

Akhil hopes to pursue a radiology residency after returning to medical school in May of 2020 and utilize informatics in his future practice.  In his free time, he loves to dance, spend time with his family and friends, attempt to cook, and drink espresso.
