Happy Radiology Week 2021

OnĀ November 8, 1895,Ā Wilhelm RoentgenĀ discovered the x-ray.Ā It is remarkable to consider how imaging has evolvedĀ over 126 yearsĀ and what we can provide to patients and their families.Ā Ā
From the first fuzzy images of bones that took exposures up to an hour, we now have high-resolution radiographic images available in seconds. We have fluoroscopy,Ā ultrasound, CT, MRI, molecular imaging, and interventional radiology. Our department touches tens of thousands of childrenās lives every year. We help to discover if they are sick or injured. We help to direct their treatments. We help to make children healthy and well.Ā
We are fortunate to work in one of the best pediatric hospitals and in one of the best radiologyĀ departmentsĀ in the world. We are leaders in dose reduction, patient safety, process improvement, education and research and discovery. From the front desk to the imaging suites to the reading room to the research labs, our dedication andĀ hardĀ work is making a difference in the lives of the patients entrusted to our care today and in the future.Ā
This week we are celebratingĀ Radiology WeekĀ atĀ Cincinnati Childrenās.Ā We officially celebrate this one week in early November,Ā butĀ we appreciateĀ all our staff in the Department of RadiologyĀ every day throughout the year.Ā We thank ourĀ staffĀ for bringingĀ theirĀ skillsĀ and heart to work every day and making us the wonderful department that we are and will continue to be.Ā
