Radiography Technologists Honor Their Own Clinical Engineers

Radiography Technologists Honor Their Own Clinical Engineers

Cincinnati Children’s celebrated Health Technician Management Week May 23-27. This annual celebration is designed to promote the awareness and appreciation for the critical work of biomedical equipment technicians (BMETs), clinical engineers, and other members of the healthcare technology management (HTM) field. Their duties include repairing hospital equipment, keeping it up-to-date, ensuring that it is in safe working order, satisfying equipment request orders from hospital staff, etc.

Our Radiology Department’s Radiography technologists wanted to thank Wayne Bruns, Mike Louder and Ed Guy (the three clinical engineers assigned to their area) personally by throwing them an appreciation lunch party. Susan N. Smith (Radiography/Fluoroscopy Manager) and her staff ordered a catered lunch from Chipotle, baked custom desserts, and presented gifts to their clinical engineers in attendence. The technologists themselves ordered their own whimsical Twitter tee-shirts.
