It’s been a long time coming – the Cincinnati Children’s Mason Campus renovation is finally complete. And it was more than worth the wait!
If you haven’t visited us in Mason lately, you’re in for a wonderful surprise.
Over the last 18 months the space was completely reconfigured and renovated to expand capacity for specialty clinics and urgent care, make the space brighter and more colorful, add new programs at Mason giving families more services closer to home and increase efficiency – both from an energy perspective and design perspective.
In building A, the largest building on campus, the welcome area is brighter and now features digital signage to help keep visitors informed of what’s happening at Cincinnati Children’s.
Just to the right of the welcome desk is the new occupational therapy and physical therapy (OT/PT) area. OT/PT’s new expanded space now includes an Activities for Daily Living (ADL) kitchen and bath, a treehouse and climbing wall and a dedicated registration and waiting area.
Lab and Radiology also now has a separate waiting area and in the renovation their space has been completely updated, reconfigured and made more welcoming and relaxing for patients and families.
At the end of the main hall in building A, guests will find the new main registration and waiting area that serves urgent care and specialty clinics. The atrium overlooking the pond was completely rebuilt and opened up to create an area that truly encompasses the “Imagine Beyond” theme of the new space.
Using the space that was once operating rooms, capacity for specialty clinics and urgent care was greatly expanded. There are now two pod-type clinic areas with nursing stations in the middle with large, suite-style exam rooms around them. This allowed for increased capacity for many specialty clinics and also for the addition of dermatology clinic in Mason.
New space was also created for ophthalmology clinic.
A new pond-themed soundproof booth was added in audiology.
Special clinic space was created for cerebral palsy clinic including its own infrastructure, very large rooms to accommodate patients’ movement limitations and a conference room for the multi-disciplinary CP teams to meet.
Building B was also fully renovated and developed specifically for use by the Perlman Center.
In building C, speech pathology and psychology areas as well as the sports physical therapy gym, were all repainted, received new flooring and new furniture to update the spaces that were already working well.
Throughout the buildings, you will find inspirational graphic elements and artwork that was created through a program that engaged hundreds of participants.
Mason Urgent Care is open from 6 pm to 11 pm Monday through Friday, noon to 7 pm Saturday and 11 am to 7 pm Sunday.
