Host Kate Setter talks with Dr. Kristen Copeland, Dr. Lauren Porter, and Vera Brooks from Cincinnati Public Schools about kindergarten readiness and child development. It’s almost time for kids who were babies through the pandemic to start kindergarten – but are they ready?  Listeners will gain insight into key factors educators consider when assessing kindergarten readiness, and how measures taken in 2020 and 2021 continue to influence classroom outcomes. Our guests discuss their work with young learners, drawing from a recent study that explores the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on early childhood education. They also offer practical steps parents can take to help prepare their children for kindergarten, emphasizing the role of a nurturing and stimulating environment in fostering readiness. Don’t miss this important conversation that will provide listeners with actionable steps to support every child’s journey into kindergarten.
