Listen up! Patient flow radio program on line

In case you missed the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s Web-based radio program on Dec. 2, “All Hospitals in favor of saving money say ‘Patient Flow’,” it’s now on line at www.ihi.org. (There’s a link on the right-hand side of the page.)

The program, which documents improvements to make sure the right patients are in the right place at the right time being care for by the right people, features Cincinnati Children’s President and CEO Jim Anderson and CFO Scott Hamlin, as well as Harvard professor Eugene Litvak.

We wrote more on the topic in a post Dec. 3. And there’s lot more information available. In fact, on the IHI Web site, you can download a chapter of a book by Litvak that details our experience.

It’s not rocket science. It’s not brain surgery. It’s health care improvement. And it may be just as hard as anything!
