Q&A: “Save My Spot” for Urgent Care

Now, if you need pediatric urgent care, you can choose “Save My Spot” to secure your spot in line and wait where you’re comfortable. This system is available at all five Cincinnati Children’s urgent care locations, including Burnet and Liberty campuses. Here’s everything you need to know to save your spot:

Q: How does this service work? 

A: Using “Save My Spot” you can reserve a spot on the waiting list without having to physically be in the office. Visit cincinnatichildrens.org/urgent and click the pink “Save My Spot” button next to the location you want to visit. Then choose your arrival time and wait where you are most comfortable.

Urgent Care vs. Emergency Room

Q: Where can I access “Save My Spot”?

A: This feature is available at cincinnatichildrens.org/urgent and works on both desktop and mobile browsers. 

Q: Will this allow me to see a doctor faster?

A: While “Save My Spot” does not prioritize patients on the waiting list, it will get you in line immediately. This will in turn allow you to wait for your scheduled arrival time wherever you are most comfortable.

Q: Which locations offer “Save My Spot”?

A: It is offered at all five Cincinnati Children’s urgent care locations: Green Township, Mason, Anderson, Liberty, and Burnet Campus.

Q: Is “Save My Spot” available for Emergency Room visits as well?

A: No. At the current time, this is only being offered for urgent care visits. If you believe you are in need of immediate care, please go straight to the Emergency Room or call 911. Consult the list above to determine whether you need to be seen in urgent care or the emergency room.

Q: What do I do once I arrive?

A: When you arrive, head to the reception desk and check in. Tell the receptionist that you have already reserved an arrival time, and they will be able to take care of you from there.

Q: What if I can’t make my scheduled arrival time?

A: In order to avoid delays in scheduling, patients are asked to show up 10 minutes prior to their scheduled arrival time to allow enough time for processing and paperwork. We do understand that it can be difficult to get a sick child out the door and traffic is unpredictable, so we do allow a 15 minute grace period after your scheduled arrival time. If you still cannot make it to the urgent care within that window, you will be automatically rescheduled into our next available slot. If you still cannot make that time, you will lose your reserved position in line and will be asked to check in again upon your arrival.
