Q&A: What You Need to Know About Online Urgent Care “Save My Spot”

On August 1st, we rolled out a new online “Save My Spot” queuing system that services all five urgent care locations. This system will be similar to services previously offered at our Mason, Anderson, and Green Township locations but with a few user-friendly enhancements. So if you think you or your child needs to be seen in our Urgent Care, there are a few things to consider when reserving an arrival time in advance.

Q: How does this service work?

A: Through this online feature, our patients can reserve a spot on the waiting list without having to physically be in the office. The goal of this service is to afford families and patients the opportunity to reserve an arrival time while waiting in a place that is most comfortable for them.

Q: Where can I access the online portal?

A: This feature is available online by visiting our website for urgent care locations. “Save My Spot” is available for both standard and mobile browsers.

Q: Will this allow me to see a doctor faster?

A: While this feature does not prioritize patients on the waiting list, it will get you in line immediately. This will in turn allow you to wait for your scheduled arrival time wherever you are most comfortable.

Q: Which locations offer this?

A: This service is offered at all five Cincinnati Children’s urgent care locations: Green Township, Mason, Anderson Township, Liberty, and Burnet Campus.

Q: Is this available for Emergency Room visits as well?

A: No. At the current time, this is only being offered for urgent care visits. If you believe you are in need of immediate care, please go straight to the Emergency Room or call 911. Consult the list above to determine whether you need to be seen in urgent care or the emergency room.

Q: What do I do once I arrive?

A: You are asked to show up at the location at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled time. Then go to the reception desk and check in as you normally would. Tell the receptionist that you have already reserved an arrival time, and they will be able to take care of you from there.

Q: What if I can’t make my scheduled arrival time?

A: In order to avoid delays in scheduling, patients are asked to show up 10 minutes prior to their scheduled arrival time to allow enough time for processing and paperwork. We do understand that it can be difficult to get a sick child out the door and traffic is unpredictable, so we do allow a 15 minute grace period after your scheduled arrival time. If you still cannot make it to the urgent care within that window, you will be automatically rescheduled into our next available slot. If you still cannot make that time, you will lose your reserved position in line and will be asked to check in again upon your arrival.

This system is designed to make reserving a check-in time simple and easy for families on the go. If you have any further questions or need help reserving an arrival time, please call our Urgent Care Hotline at 513-636-4293.
