Earlier today, U.S. News and World Report released their annual Best Children’s Hospitals rankings, and Cincinnati Children’s is honored to be ranked number three on their 2020-2021 list of Honor Roll hospitals. The U.S. News Honor Roll highlights the top 50 pediatric facilities in the nation in 10 specialty areas based on four categories:

  • Clinical outcomes, including patient survival, infection rates and complications
  • Hospital resources, the level and quality of which are directly related to patient care, such as staffing, technology and special services
  • Delivery of healthcare, programs that prevent infections and adherence to best practices
  • Expert opinion, reputation among pediatric specialists

Here’s how our specialties ranked this year:

Cancer 3

Gastroenterology & GI Surgery 5
Heart & Heart Surgery 14
Neonatology 7
Nephrology 3
Neurology & Neurosurgery 5
Orthopedics  3
Pulmonology 4

“This sustained recognition of our continued excellence makes us grateful and proud. Once again, our employees have demonstrated what can be accomplished when we all work together for the good of our patients, families and each other.” -Cincinnati Children’s president and CEO Michael Fisher
