Registration for the 9th annual Cincinnati Walks for Kids on Saturday, September 27th is now open and we’re excited to share some new details with you about this year’s event.

Again this year, Cincinnati Walks for Kids will be held at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. The zoo provides a gorgeous setting for our half-mile walk and exclusive access to explore the Zoo when you’re finished. We’ll have lots of fun activities, including complimentary face painting and train rides as well as animal encounters and a cheetah show.

In an effort to allow for as much time in the Zoo as possible and eliminate a wait at the starting line, we’re introducing a new rolling start for 2014.

You will be able to start the walk route and enter the zoo at your own pace. You’ll just check-in, pick up your official walk T-shirt, meet up with your team, check out the cool new things in the registration area, then hit the walk route into the Zoo whenever you’re ready.

In the registration area you will find:

  • Free fruit and Queen City Sausage samples
  • Water stations
  • Complimentary face painting– there will also be face painting inside at the Safari Camp shelters
  • Easy-to-find team meet-up and photo area
  • And, Shade tents to keep cool

We’ve also added some excitement to the Finish Area including:

  • Ribbons for all of our walkers
  • Free fruit and water
  • Eat, Drink and Play Like an Animal activities for kids
  • And, Live musical entertainment

We’re working on some changes to make drop-off and parking a breeze and we’ll have more details on that for you soon..

We’re super excited about this year’s walk and with your help we’ll make it the biggest and best one yet!

When we started Cincinnati Walks for Kids 8 years ago, we never could have imagined the impact it would have on families throughout our community, across the nation and around the globe. Since its inception, thousands of walkers have rallied together to support a patient or an area of the medical center, resulting in nearly $5 million raised to help bring Cincinnati and the world the joy of healthier children.

We hope you’ll join us this year – there are many opportunities for you to get involved! You can get all the details about participating here.

Registration is officially open. Visit cincywalks.org for full details and to register yourself and your team.

Thank you for your support. We can’t wait to see you at the walk!
