In this episode of the Young & Healthy podcast…

Host Kayla McNeal sits down with Nancy Bloemer, a certified massage therapist and yoga instructor, and Frankie Muraca, a registered nurse and yoga instructor, from the Integrative Care Team for an inspiring and eye-opening conversation about the impact of yoga on children’s mental and physical well-being. In our podcast, we discovered that yoga is not about perfection, it is about presence and curiosity. Whether you’re five or fifty-five, experienced or brand new, yoga has something to offer to everyone.

Nancy and Frankie take the time to answer some of the most common questions about yoga. What exactly is yoga? How does it help children? What happens during a typical yoga session? They explain that yoga is more than just stretching or poses, but that yoga is a practice of mindfulness that encourages harmony between the mind and body. This balance can be really helpful for kids. It can reduce stress, improve focus, and help manage emotions. Nancy and Frankie emphasize that even a few minutes of yoga a day can have a meaningful impact.

Listeners will gain a better understanding of how accessible and adaptable yoga can be. You don’t need fancy equipment or an hour-long session to benefit, sometimes just two minutes of mindful movement and breathing can reset the body and mind. Yoga offers kids a powerful tool for self-care that can be used anywhere. If you’ve ever wondered whether yoga could be a good fit for the young people in your life, this episode is a must-listen. Tune in to hear stories, strategies, and insights that may just shift your perspective, and maybe even inspire you to roll out a mat and join in.
