Champions Share New Year’s Wishes

Champions Share New Year’s Wishes

As we prepare to say goodbye to 2015 and ring in the new year, we’ve enlisted the help of some of our Champions patients and their families to help us celebrate.

Read on to meet six Champions and learn what they’re looking forward to most in 2016. These inspiring patient-families will also help us countdown to midnight on Twitter and Instagram (@CincyChildrens) all day on New Year’s Eve, so be sure to follow along there too!

Destiny Shares Blessings and Gratitude

Destiny kicks off our 2016 New Year’s celebration with her mom, Serena. They feel grateful to be part of the Champions program and say they look forward to more opportunities to show their gratitude for those who support the medical center. “Thanks and many blessings to you all!” says mom.

Mikaelah and Malakai Send Much Love

Mikaelah, Malakai and their mom, Jessica, plan to keep spreading the love in the New Year. “Our family is very excited for 2016,” says mom. They’re looking forward to spending more quality time together, taking family trips, and planning fun activities with one another. Their family is also excited to begin looking to purchase a new home.

Abigayle’s Three Cheers for the New Year

Gayle helped her daughter Abigayle put their family’s New Year’s wishes into words this holiday season. “To translate from 5-year-old terms,” says Gayle, “we look forward to new adventures, new friends and a joyous year of strength.”

Michael Celebrates New Beginnings in 2016

Michael and his mom Michele are excited for new beginnings in 2016. “We are looking forward to celebrating our first year ever without food trials and endoscopies,” says Michael. “Thank you Cincinnati Children’s for making such a huge difference for me.”

Jacob is Jazzed for What the Future Holds

Jacob and his dad Andrew are both excited for the prospect of what the future holds. Jacob can’t wait to learn how to play his harmonica next year. And his dad says, “We’re really excited about the advances with Eosinophilic Research at Cincinnati Children’s, and the new therapies that we hope will benefit our children.”

Ella is Excited for a Healthy, Happy New Year

Ella’s mom Amy says their family is looking forward to a year of good health without any leukemia treatments. But that’s not all! “When we asked Ella this morning,” says Amy, “she said, ‘Our trip to Disney World!'”
